Motivation Monday – Diabetes Awareness Month

Good morning, my friends, on this Motivational Monday! As we enter the month of November, and as the son of a veteran & a lifelong type one diabetic, we’re not only kicking off Diabetes Awareness Month but also celebrating our veterans and active duty. I thought you may enjoy this photo from my very first diabetic camp. It was life-changing. It is the reason my Life Rocks Foundation sponsors so many young people to attend diabetic camps.
It helped me to understand and to manage my diabetes, how to be a warrior, not a victim. If we can all get past the fact that me & my friends all had the exact same Three Stooges/Moe Howard haircuts, and the camp was named Camp No-Coma, and the fact that for arts & crafts, I had to invent T-shirts we could sell and I got to thinking, let’s call it “Camp KNO – KOMA” and, being in Central Pennsylvania, print blue on white to sell to raise money to look like the Penn State Nittany Lions to sell more. In my learning curve on this entrepreneurial Motivational Monday, my thought was great. However, the printing skills as I had to silk screen these myself with my friends were a little crooked on the shirt and we will ignore any possible back-then child labor laws that may not have existed lol I was happy, and I cannot explain to the world enough how important it is to surround yourself with good family & friends or independently go do stuff you love. It saved my life then and now for me sports/ music/friends and keeping a wild side basically. And you can see the pic of me now. Managing diabetes may never stop, but I will never give up the fight! Go rock the world!!! Nothing ventured nothing gained.

In closing, you all know that I have lead singer long texting issues, but I’m throwing out to you all much love, respect and gratitude. Find a way to have fun, get it done, stay strong, rock on and remain unbroken.
