UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif. – July 29, 2010 – Rocker and winner of NBC’s “The Celebrity Apprentice,” Bret Michaels, and hit-making Mercury Recording artist Taio Cruz from the U.K. will perform on the next live results show of NBC’s “America’s Got Talent” on Wednesday, August 4 (9-10 p.m. ET)
On last night’s show, Debra Romer, Studio One Young Beast Society, Haspop and Jeremy Vanschoonhoven made it through to the semi-finals, which begin on Tuesday, August 24 (9-11 p.m. ET)
Michaels, winner of this past season’s “The Celebrity Apprentice” will perform his signature song “Every Rose Has Its Thorn” on Wednesday, August 4, which Miley Cyrus recently re-recorded for her new album. Michaels’ “Rock of Love” television series is one of the most successful in VH1’s history. With three record breaking seasons under his belt, Michaels is currently embarking on several other television projects, including the upcoming VH1 show “Bret Michaels: Life as You Know It” this fall.

BRET MICHAELS ON BEING BACK ON THE ROAD: “I WOULDN’T DO IT IF I THOUGHT I WAS GOING TO DIE”
July 8, 2010 (Los Angeles, CA)— ENTERTAINMENT TONIGHT's SAMANTHA HARRIS sat down with rocker and "Celebrity Apprentice" winner Bret Michaels yesterday in his Los Angeles recording studio, for an exclusive new interview to air tonight, July 8th.
Just two-and-a-half months ago Bret suffered a brain hemorrhage, followed by what was called a "warning stroke." On his incredible recovery, Bret says, "It happened, I didn't die from it. That's the bottom line, I didn't die from it. I love being out of the hospital. After you spend literally what was almost a month and half in two different -- technically three different ICU units -- I was done. I was like, 'I need to get out of here.’ It becomes extremely depressing, and what gets me up and going out there is making music and being around my family and friends. That's an awesome feeling."
Last month on "Good Morning America," he joined Miley Cyrus for a performance. On their pairing creating some controversy, he says, "Miley and her family -- Tish and Billy Ray and all of them -- they've all been friends for a while. They've been out to our shows and my daughters have been to her shows... [Miley] came in and sang a really, really awesome harmony. And it caused amazing controversy out of nothing.” Bret says his own daughters, meanwhile, were "extremely excited" to hear his collaboration with Miley.
Now he has a brand-new album out, Custom Built. Does he think he pushed himself to get back on the road too soon? "I'll be honest with you. I took every precaution. I wouldn't do it if I thought I was going to die.
I fought too hard to live.” He goes on to say, "I want to show people I'm healthy. I feel great. I'm thankful for all the well wishes and everything that came my way, but let's get back to having a great time. Let's get back to rockin' again."

BRET MICHAELS DOCTORS PUT TO REST ANY SPECULATION THAT HIS RECENT BRAIN HEMORRHAGE AND APPENDECTOMY WEREN’T SERIOUS, REAL OR LIFE THREATENING
Recently there have been a few erroneous, false and irresponsible statements spread on the internet and one news station that Bret Michaels medical condition wasn’t serious, real or life threatening. Dr. Joseph Zabramski, MD, Bret’s neurosurgeon at Barrow Neurological Institute states, “The fact is, the subarachnoid hemorrhage that Mr. Michaels suffered was very real, and very serious as was the T.I.A (warning stroke) and P.F.O., which will be operated on later this year. A subarachnoid hemorrhage is a life-threatening, neurosurgical emergency that requires an extensive work up and management in the ICU to prevent re-bleeding and manage the complications associated with the initial hemorrhage. For anyone to speculate that this was not a life threatening medical emergency is absolutely incorrect. Between 15 and 20 percent of patients die as a result of the initial hemorrhage, and only approximately 50 percent of those that survive have a good outcome. Recovery from subarachnoid hemorrhage is determined primarily by the size of the initial bleeding episode. Mr. Michaels quick reaction to the hemorrhage and immediate medical attention that followed aided in his ability to make a strong recovery and stop the brain hemorrhage before it caused severe and permanent brain damage. Mr. Michaels is fortunate to be alive after all that he has been through. Bret is truly one of the most determined individuals I have ever met when it comes to an attempt at making a full recovery.
Dr. Greg Gonzaba, whose team treated Michaels for the appendicitis in San Antonio. states “When I arrived I found Mr. Michaels to be acutely distressed, upon my examination I concluded he was suffering from an “acute abdomen”, a medical diagnosis suspicious for a serious, potentially fatal abdominal problem, such as appendicitis, cholecystitis or possible diverticulitis. These conditions, if left untreated could escalate to a potentially fatal problem such as organ rupture, sepsis/toxicity and eventually death by overwhelming infection not to mention Mr. Michaels is a diabetic which could complicate the condition. For a news source to assume and state his condition was not serious is completely false and irresponsible.”
In recent months Bret Michaels’ health issues and determination to recover and continue touring have been viewed as both inspirational by some and as potentially jeopardizing to his health by others. Michaels, a lifelong type 1 diabetic, had an emergency appendectomy, a brain hemorrhage, a T.I.A (warning stroke) and was diagnosed with a P.F.O (hole in his heart). This domino effect happened over the course of a month and a half. Although Michaels is not 100% yet his fight to recover both physically and mentally combined with continued lab work including blood tests MRI’s and physical’s, 4 daily insulin injections along with 2 daily Lovenox injections to thin the blood will be continued until he is able to have the operation on his heart in the fall “
Janna Elias V.P. of Michaels Entertainment states “All people heal differently and while Bret may be out on the road and performing he is still not 100%. He still has pain from the chemical meningitis, short term memory loss and gets fatigued quicker than normal. Bret isn’t by any means trying to put his health in jeopardy by being on the road. He simply feels that music is a powerful healer. For Bret to sit around and not live his life to the fullest would likely be more detrimental to his recovery then playing music, it is the same mind set as the lyrics to Tim McGraw’s song “Live like you were Dying.””

I don't know if there could ever be words to describe the way I felt when I
got on Bret's tour bus and he was standing there waiting to meet me with
that big beautiful smile of his!!!! Bret is absolutely one of the most
genuine, sweetest human beings I have ever met!!!! When you buy a VIP
package for a Bret Michaels concert you are treated like a Vip all day,
starting with a phone call in the morning from Tattoo Tony, being served
Trop A Rockas before the concert and being Hi Fived by Bret after the
concert and everything in between. Bret, The Bret Michaels Band, his
assistants Tattoo Tony, Janna, Cousin Bob and Patrick were all attentive to
each and every person in our group and they made mine and my husband Joe's
night a night we will always cherish!!! It was amazing seeing everything
that goes on behind the scenes at a concert and seeing the show from the
side of the stage. If Bret wasn't feeling well, he never showed it, always
smiling and joking around with everyone, being the exact person you see on
TV!!!
The only downfall of the whole day was when it had to end!!

Bret will be the first recipient of the Award which recognizes the outstanding accomplishments of individuals, corporations, institutions or organizations who have demonstrated significant dedication and commitment in their local market and have had a positive impact in advancing the mission of the American Diabetes Association.

Joanne and John meeting Bret after West Palm Beach show. It was an extreme pleasure meeting all of you that work with Bret. We truly had a great experience and an AWESOME time! It was great to see some of what actually goes on behind the scenes for the performances. No doubt, Bret has an amazing extreme talent. He is a very sweet guy and very personable. Actually, he's pretty funny too. I have to say, I have met many celebrities before but seeing Bret almost brought me to my knees and I became speechless! He has been a true inspiration for me. Bret is being treated as an outpatient for the Patent Foramen Ovale (PFO). The condition is operable and treatable and for now he is taking two additional injections daily of a blood thinner. Bret is not only our boss but a great friend to all of us and his health is our main concern. That being said, Bret is a very passionate person and refuses to live his life curled up in a ball wondering if or when something else might happen. No doubt life has risks and rewards, being a type 1 diabetic he has lived with struggles and complications since he was six years old but he always tries to maintain positive attitude and seldom lets things get him down. I have seen him handle the ups and downs, highs and lows of this disease. No doubt these recent medical complications have been tough but he wants to continue to live his life, enjoy every day and get back on the road. He is taking all the medications and steps to insure that he can do that. As his friends and staff we are all making sure that he is not taking any undo risks and we are certainly taking every precaution possible to insure his health and well being. If and when something else occurs we will deal with it at that time. Hopefully, it will be a very long time before we have to deal with anything like this again.

CELEBRITY APPRENTICE FINALIST, BRET MICHAELS, BACK IN HOSPITAL AFTER SUFFERING WARNING STROKE KNOWN AS A TRANSIENT ISCHEMIC ATTACK (TIA)
RECEIVES DEVASTATING NEWS AS TESTS SHOW HE HAS A HOLE IN HIS HEART OR PATENT FORAMEN OVALE (PFO)
Bret Michaels was readmitted to the hospital this week after suffering numbness on the left side of his body, predominately his face and hands which doctors described as a Transient Ischemic Attack (TIA) or warning stroke. While MRI and CT scan tests were being conducted, Michaels also received a Doppler Ultrasound of his legs and lower abdomen looking for blood clots and most importantly an Ultrasound Bubble Test of his heart was conducted which proved positive for a Patent Forum Ovale (PFO), a hole in the heart. Dr. Zabramski (Bret’s neurosurgeon), Dr. Becker (who ordered the test), Dr. Cook (who conducted the test) and Dr. Frey (Director, Outpatient Stroke Program) all confirmed the results.
Dr. Zabramski states "There is no doubt that the positive Patent Foramen Ovale (PFO) is devastating news to Bret and his family. The good news is that it is operable and treatable and we think we may have diagnosed the problem that caused the Transient Ischemic Attach (TIA) or warning stroke; however we feel it is highly unlikely this is connected to the brain hemorrhage he suffered just a few weeks earlier. Once again it is great that he quickly reacted to the severe numbness and got to the hospital immediately."
Dr. Zabramski continues, "I realize Bret wants to make a full recovery so that he can be active with his family, attempt to attend the finale of Celebrity Apprentice and especially get back on the road to continue making music. Without a doubt he is very determined to get healthy and make a 100% recovery. Medically speaking it is a fantastic attitude both mentally and physically for him to have. However, Bret's brain and body are not quite 100% yet, especially with the hole found in his heart. Further tests will be conducted throughout the week and I will have more information next week as to how this Patent Foramen Ovale (PFO) will be treated. For now, Bret will be treated with outpatient care which includes a daily injection of Lovenox (a blood thinner to reduce the chance of blood clots) and blood tests."
Bret's rep, Janna Elias, states "Bret wants everyone to know he cannot thank you enough for all of the well wishes, prayers, and good vibes you have sent his way. Even though these last few months have been tough on him and his family, especially this most recent setback, he is in good spirits, great medical hands and is positive and hopeful that everything is going to be OK. He is up, walking, talking, continuing his daily rehab and very happy to be alive but he has made it clear he is sick and tired of being in the hospital and is ready to rock again."

After seeing promotional clips for tomorrows Oprah Winfrey Show featuring Bret, concerned friends and fans have flooded my e-mail box with questions so I thought it best to address them here as it will take me too long to reply individually.
Yes, there is a slight, noticeable drooping on one side of Bret's face. Yes, this is a result of the hemorrhage and possibly exacerbated by some of the medications he is on. Will it go away? We are hopeful that with further rehabilitation it will eventually go away. While we all realize there are no guarantees we all are of course hoping for a full recovery. Bret, his family and all of us at Michaels Entertainment cannot thank you all enough for your continued thoughts, prayers and well wishes.

What an unbelievable six weeks it's been. Who would dreamt that while recovering from an appendectomy that you would have a subarachnoid brain hemorrhage? Events like this certainly put life into perspective.
All the prayers, thoughts, and well wishes have certainly heard and without a doubt helped me through this trying time. My supporters and fans have always meant the world to me and I can't thank you enough for the kindness and love you guys have sent to me and my family.
Despite a few setbacks and hiccups along the road to recovery, my only goal and intention is to get back to 100 percent health as soon as possible, so I can get back and give you all 200 percent. Without a doubt the rock and roll will resume very shortly.

Bret Michaels, who suffered a subarachnoid brain hemorrhage on April 22, just 10 days after an emergency appendectomy in San Antonio, Texas while on his Custom Built Tour, is planning on making his return to live performances Friday May 28, Memorial Day Weekend, at Hard Rock Live in Biloxi, Mississippi. This hard-rocking venue has hosted such acts as Kid Rock, Three Doors Down, Stevie Nicks and Daughtry.
Michaels, who has been rehabbing since his release from ICU, has increased his rehabilitation sessions to twice a day to prepare for his comeback on Friday May 28th at the Hard Rock in Biloxi, Mississippi and to continue on all of his solo dates as well as kicking off a tour with Lynyrd Skynyrd which begins June 10 in West Palm Beach, Florida at the Cruzan Amphitheater. "We have been overwhelmed with well wishes and offers that continue to pour in for Bret. And promoters have really stepped up to the plate to reschedule dates he missed. Which is a testament to Bret’s great live performances and friendships he has built over the years" states Brian Ahern from William Morris Endeavor Agency (WME).
The singer plans to remain on tour throughout the fall and early winter, with dates scheduled through December. Dates that were postponed due to the singer’s medical emergencies are currently being rescheduled.
Michaels, who continues to be a strong competitor on NBC's Celebrity Apprentice Sunday nights, is hoping to be able to return to New York, along with the rest of the cast, for the finale on Sunday May 23rd. Representatives confirm Michaels is being treated at Barrow Neurological Institute in Arizona
Bret Michaels, who appears in People Magazine’s World Most Beautiful People of 2010 Issue this week and ironically in the Scoop section because of his Brain Hemorrhage, is being treated at Barrow Neurological Institute at St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center in Phoenix, AZ. Barrow is among the world’s leading neurological centers and is the home of the Muhammed Ali Parkinson Center.
In the days following Mr. Michaels’ hospitalization, due to a subarachnoid hemorrhage, there was a lot of speculation as to where Mr. Michaels was being treated. Due to the severity of his life threatening condition, the instantaneous way in which the hemorrhage presented itself and respect for his family his location was not confirmed to the media. There is a seven to ten day period that is extremely critical in which multiple tests are conducted to detect the source of the bleeding.
“There is no doubt that Mr. Michaels’ condition is serious. We are treating the subarachnoid hemorrhage, which caused his severe cranial pain.” states Dr. Zabramski who has been a top neurosurgeon at Barrow Neurological Institute since 1986 and serves as the Chief of Cerebrovascular Surgery and Director of Clinical Neurosurgical Research at the center and is leading Michaels’ team. Zabramski continues “Mr. Michaels will continue to undergo testing considering we have hit a few roadblocks including hyponatremia, severe cranial and back pain suffered from blood drainage, an emergency appendectomy performed a week earlier and a lifelong history of Type 1 Diabetes. However, “Bret’s sheer will to live and fully recover is undeniable.” He has an unbelievable fight in him and told me what kept him alive at the moment of the hemorrhage was that he ‘did not want his family to wake up and see him lying unconscious in the middle of the floor.” It was a combination of Bret’s fight to stay conscious during the hemorrhage and get to the emergency room, and the immediate medical attention provided by our staff at Barrow that enabled us to stabilize his condition.”
At this time Barrow neurologists and neurosurgeons will be having a press conference at 12pm Tuesday to discuss and update his condition, treatment and prognosis in full detail. We thank you for your continued support and well wishes.
Bret remains in critical condition in ICU under 24 hour supervision by doctors and medical staff. If a patient survives the initial rupture, the first 7 to 10 days after are the most critical as an additional rupture or other complications may arise.
Doctors are also continuing to treat Bret for the hyponatremia and today he will be undergoing more testing as well as an additional MRA.
There will be a press conference on Tuesday at which doctors who have been treating Bret will further explain his condition, treatment and prognosis.
Location and time of the press conference will be released Friday.

Hey everyone. Much like Janna, I rarely speak out about Bret other than my own personal facebook comments. But I wanted to reach out to all of you and let you know that we who are closest to Bret, are overwhelmed with the amount of love and well wishes he is receiving. I know that everyone is waiting for some OFFICIAL news, however we just cant give any right now. This is a time for family, a time for healing and a time for love. It is out of respect first and foremost for Bret, Kristi and their precious daughters Raine and Jorja-Bleu and Bret's immediate family that none of us say anything. The press has a way of taking information and doing what they want with it. At a critical time, we who care deepest for him, refuse to offer any information that can be delivered incorrectly. Imagine if your children or parents read something even slightly not true about you or your health on the internet. Its not fun. What I can tell you is that when I was invited into Bret’s world, over 5 years ago, I was introduced to a new level of strength, and loyalty. So much that I had to rethink my whole life and how I do things. I thought I was a hard worker. I didn't understand that a man 10 years older than me, battling a life long war with Juvenile Diabetes, more fame than most, and more money than he knows what to do with, could possibly get up everyday with more drive and passion than myself. I was wrong! I didn't understand what it meant to be a loyal friend. The kind that would do anything you ever needed without even asking why, what, who or where. Bret is the kind of guy that wakes up everyday and treats it like it is his first, and may be his last. He is full of passion, energy and love. But most of all, he is a survivor. Against the odds of a critical music industry, or battling a crippling disease, over and over again Bret has come out on top and ahead of the game. I personally expect nothing less from him in this situation.
With all that being said, all Bret has ever really wanted to give is the gift of music. All he has ever asked for is the gift of music. We have been hard at work on the upcoming CUSTOM BUILT record. To keep my own sanity in this last week, I dove heavy into the music. One of my personal favorites in a track called WASTED TIME. It is full of pure BRET MICHAELS emotion and heart. While not the final mix, I took some of the vocal we have laid down on the bus during the tour and comped together a piece of NEW MUSIC for you all. I believe all the fans will agree with me that this teaser is an amazing song. I hope you all use it, like I have this week, to remind you how amazing my great friend Bret is. So I hacked into the site and slammed it into the beginning of the Web Page Audio. In fact you should be hearing it right now as you read this.

Test results indicate a setback in Bret Michaels condition a side effect from the brain hemorrhage called hyponatremia a lack of sodium in the body which leads to seizures.
Bret Michaels was the topic of Larry King Live as Donald Trump, Jr. and other celebrities weigh in on Michaels condition. Due to the severity of his condition, Bret Michaels continues to remain hospitalized in an intensive care unit at an undisclosed hospital. He remains in critical but stable condition according to his doctors. Last night on Larry King Live Bret Michaels condition was the topic on the show as Donald Trump, Jr., Darryl Strawberry, Sanjay Gupta and Carlos Diaz discuss concerns, lasting affects as well Michaels as a person. Donald Trump, Jr. stated that "Bret is very likable guy, down to earth and a solid person." He stated "out of all the people from 'Celebrity Apprentice,' I may have had the best kind of off-camera relationship with him over the three years." Trump, Jr. also says he is a great father and rocker and concerned for the singers health. Strawberry who starred on Celebrity Apprentice with Michaels says he is a good friend on and off camera. He is a hard worker and is a creative force on the show. Without a doubt he lives a crazy lifestyle and he wishes him a speedy recovery. Carlos Diaz who is a Radio Host and Entertainment Correspondent says Michaels is "a star that transcends several generations." He has reinvented his career, both on "Rock of Love" and "Celebrity Apprentice" as well as his music. Dr. Sanjay Gupta is CNN's chief medical correspondent says a subarachnoid hemorrhage is an aneurysm in one of the blood vessels. He stated about 10 percent of people don't survive. He obviously survived that. About another quarter of people don't make it through the first couple of days in the hospital and 30 percent make a full recovery.
Michaels' medical workup demonstrated findings of a subarachnoid hemorrhage, a type of stroke that causes bleeding in the fluid-filled spaces around the base of the brain. It presents itself suddenly as the sound of a loud gunshot or thunderclap at the back of the head causing severe cranial pain and muscle spasms. Many people are speculating Michaels head injury suffered from a prop striking the singer at the Tony awards last June is the cause. Additional studies are planned throughout the week to hopefully detect the exact cause of the rupture. Coupled with the fact that Michaels is a lifelong Type 1 diabetic and has recently undergone emergency appendectomy surgery while on tour in San Antonio, he will remain monitored closely by his medical team to make sure no complications occur from the diabetes.
The most common cause of this condition is a spontaneous rupture of a cerebral aneurysm, however, 15 to 20 percent of spontaneous episodes of this hemorrhage are found to have no cause. Michaels has undergone a continuous series of tests while in the ICU including angiograms, CT scans, MRI’s and transcranial dopplers (TCD's). Doctors state Michaels is very lucky as his condition could have been fatal. With further testing and rehabilitation, they are hopeful that Bret will gradually improve as the blood surrounding the brain dissolves and is reabsorbed into his system, which can be a very painful recovery and take several weeks to months. Michaels remains under 24-hour observation in the ICU and is in positive spirits. He is responding well to tests and treatments. Even though today was a minor setback Doctors remain hopeful for a full recovery and plan to release more specific information next Monday.

I don’t often write notes or letters in regards to business that include my personal thoughts and feelings. However, today I feel I must make one quick statement on both a business and personal level.
Bret’s health and his care are the number one prioroty to his family and to those of us that know him and work with him on a daily basis. He remains in intensive care, under close supervision and is still in critical condition. Additional tests are being ran and will continue to be ran until the source of the bleeding is located. More information will be posted as it becomes available.
On that note I want to clarify that the media has been interviewing numerous people over the last few days. None and I reiterate, none, of the people that have been interviewed are authorized representatives nor do they have the right to speak on Bret’s behalf. We have attempted to release authorized statements through our publicist so as to keep everyone up to date as information becomes available. I find it inappropriate that people are granting interviews to the media when they have partial or incorrect information, no right to nor our approval to do so.
Again, we will release information as it becomes available, but right now doctors and Brets' staff are focusing on his immediate care.

BRET MICHAELS RECOVERING FROM EMERGENCY SURGERY

Moments before singer Bret Michaels was to take the stage at the Sea World Amphitheater in San Antonio the Rock of Love Star, Poison front man and Celebrity Apprentice contestant, was rushed to the hospital with severe abdominal pains. After several tests and a CAT scan the rock star received news that he had an acute appendicitis and was immediately taken into emergency surgery at 1:00am.
Donald Trump states “although Michaels is uncontrollable at times, he is a creative asset to his team and most importantly a strong fighter.”
That fight may come in handy in his recovery as the singer remains under doctor’s supervision to insure that no unforeseen problems arise due to his life long struggle with type 1 diabetes which can sometimes complicate post operative care.
Several tour dates on his Roses and Thorns tour are being rescheduled. Michaels is hopeful to make his appearance at the Wichita River Music Festival which would be his first performance post surgery. The remainder of the tour is scheduled to resume on May 12th in Verona New York.
For the past two decades, Michaels has sold over 25 million records worldwide and has set his musical and creative sights far beyond Poison. The singer/songwriter will be releasing his solo album “Custom Built” on June 8th, 2010. The album features the new hit song “Nothing to Lose” (featuring Miley Cyrus), the new tracks “Riding Against the Wind,” “Wasted Time” and will also feature covers of the Sublime song “What I got” and Hank Williams Jr.’s “Family tradition.” Custom Built, in true Michaels fashion, has no musical boundaries and will include a variety of different styles such as rock, country, alternative and Americana.
Over this past week Michaels emergency appendectomy was the number one googled item of the week, even getting spoofed NBC’s Saturday Night Lives’ “Weekly Update". Recently the singer was asked to make a cameo in Rihanna’s new video “Rockstar” but due to the emergency surgery he was unable to appear.
For those of you who have been tuning into the Apprentice you know it has been a tough week for Bret. With the possibility of his oldest daughter Raine being diagnosed pre-diabetic and Bret’s unforeseen emergency surgery.

As many of you know, due to the emergency surgery performed Monday morning, last night's Bret Michaels show in Baton Rouge was postponed. The following shows have also been postponed:

Bret remains under medical supervision at an undisclosed private care facility specializing in the rehabilitation of diabetic patients. While the surgery went well and Doctors are optimistic that the rocker will make a full recovery, the fact that he was exhausted due to his rigorous schedule prior to the surgery and coupled with the fact that he has diabetes, the surgery has taken its toll. Even for non diabetic patients the recovery from surgery can be long and painful. Doctors were amazed at how good of health Bret was in being a 47 year-old diabetic. However the main focus and concern right now is that he is able to rest, recover and maintain good blood sugar levels while doing so.

Bret Michaels, who is currently appearing on NBC’s Celebrity Apprentice, remains in the hospital after an emergency appendectomy early Monday morning.
While on his current Roses and Thorns Tour which is set to visit over 200 cities, the legendary rock and roll front man was rushed to an undisclosed hospital in San Antonio on Sunday after suffering from severe stomach pains and what was originally thought to be a case of the stomach flu. Upon further examination doctors insisted on performing a CAT scan which revealed that the 47 year old diabetic's appendix was nearly ready to burst, and rushed him into an early Monday morning (1:00am) surgery. It is now known that his appendix would have more than likely burst on stage that evening quite possibly resulting in death.
After spiking a fever during the overnight hours, which could be a sign of infection, it is reported that Michaels will remain under doctor's care for an undisclosed amount of time as to monitor his progress watch for complications.

Moments before he was to take the stage last night (April 11th) in San Antonio, Doctors at Sea World urged Bret Michaels to go to the hospital as the singer had been suffering all day from severe stomach pains and what was assumed to be a severe case of the flu. After further examination by Doctors in San Antonio it was determined that the singer was suffering from an acute appendicitis. He was rushed into emergency surgery at 1:00 a.m.. According to Doctors, Michaels, who remains in the hospital, is doing well and beginning the recovery process.
Michaels who has been known to perform under extreme conditions that would make most performers cancel, will unfortunately have no choice but to reschedule some of his April tour dates. A listing of all dates being rescheduled will be posted to his website in the coming days.

Unfortunately Bret was very ill all day today. Through many visits from doctors, emergency personnel, and EMT's all day, he was unable to perform as scheduled tonight at Sea World San Antonio.
The good news is that the show has been rescheduled for Friday, October 1! All fans who were in attendance this evening will have their tickets to the park honored on the rescheduled date. The concert is free with admission to the park & will be again in October. The show will kick off the Fall Festival at Sea World!

About 38 Special: Formed by neighborhood friends Don Barnes and Donnie Van Zant in 1975 in Jacksonville, Florida. We recently invited some campers and camp directors from Camp Hertko Hollow in Des Moines Iowa out to Bret's show at the 7 Flags Event Center to help raise money for the camp. If you would like to help support this particular camp and children in Iowa with Diabetes, you can text a donation directly to the camp by simply texting

Each donation helps a kid with diabetes to attend Camp Hertko Hollow for education and fun. Winning $100,000 dollars for the American Diabetes Association was the ultimate in prizes for the life-long diabetic, but Bret's luck didn't stop there. To make the Birthday celebration even sweeter, Bret's new single "Nothing To Lose" featuring Miley Cyrus turned in as the #3 most added song nationally on HOT AC radio stations, beating out the likes of Lady Gaga and Bon Jovi and tying Country sensation Taylor Swift! Currently Bret is performing in front of sold out crowds on his Roses and Thorns solo tour and finishing up his new CD "CUSTOM BUILT."
